105.3 - Not Our Favorite Radio Station

And the hits just keep coming... Last night/this morning, The Boy woke up screaming. We pulled him from his travel tent (because we're still stuck in Miami) and could tell right away that he had a high fever. We took his temp and it was 105.3 degrees! I have lost my sense of humor so I can't even begin to describe the scenario with the front desk clerk where I had to beg him to tell me where to find a hospital. It took another guest at the hotel, who happened to be up in the middle of the night, to get a map and help me find a hospital. He also got us ice and an ice pack. Of course we couldn't find the hospital because we had a wonderful tourist map AND Miami has something against signs.

We were worried because The Boy is supposed to see a doctor if he has a temperature over 100 and no other symptoms - it could be related to his extra kidney. The docs checked his ears first, and he has a little fluid in one ear so they decided to go ahead and do a catheter to check his urinary tract. Yeah, that was fun. At least his temp was down to 101.6 and an hour and soaked pjs later, the fever finally broke and he was below 100. The initial tests show that he doesn't have a UTI, but the rest of the results will be back after we land in Bolivia on Tuesday. So we're assuming the fever was caused by an ear infection. He's be a wreck most of the day and has been sleeping for the past 5+hours. We have about 24 hours left until we check-in for our flight. Keep your fingers crossed because we don't know what else to expect!
